Frequently asked questions that are asked of us are:

1) What services are offered?

Review of Medical Records We are available to look at and give our medical opinion about your prospective child's medical records. It is advisable to get as many records from the orphanage or foster care as you possibly can. These should be requested from your adoption agency or facilitator. Please have them translated into English and send copies of them for review

Pictures/Video tape review. Pictures and good quality videotapes are often a much better way to evaulate a child than just written records alone. Again we requeste that you send only copies of the pictures /videos. As an adoptive parent, I know how valuable these can be and I would not to risk losing or damaging any of these treasures.
  *Information handouts on producing informative videos are availale on request.


2) Other International adoption questions or concerns

What is done with the records? After we have received the records and/or videos they will be thoroughly reviewed. While we will make every effort to use our expertise in evaluating these records, please understand that the records are brief, incomplete, poor quality, or even totally inaccurate. Terminology often carries a very different meaning in different countries. In some cases, I may have you rqquest more information or certain testing, labs or xrays done. We also reserve the right to call on the expertise of other specialists to assist in this review.

How will I be contacted? After the review process in complete, I will call you to discuss my findings. In general, I will try to identify your adoption as being in the low, medium or high risk category and will discuss my findings with you. This is normally completed within a few days of my receiving the records.
  *For families that are planning on using Dr. Eckel as their primary care pediatrician in Denton,   office consultations can be arranged if desired.

4) What do I need to do to get my records reviewed?
    If you wish to pursue and utilize our services, please complete and send the following items:

    _____Complete and enclose the Personal Data Sheet 
    _____Read, sign and enclose the Waiver of Liability 
    _____Send copies of pictures, records, and / or videos. **These will not be returned.**
