Dr. Bruce Eckel, Director is a board certified pediatrician who has been in private practice since 1980. He has a full time general prediatrics practice in Denton, Texas, as well as being the founder of the North Texas International Adoption Clinic. He was born and raised in Iowa, and obtained his medical degree from the Unversity of Iowa. He serves as medical advisor to an international adoptional agency, with interest in bringing children to the U.S. for medical care not available in their country of origin. He is married and has four children, the youngest two, being special needs children adopted from China. Dr. Eckel has visited several orphanages in China, Thailand and Russia and has evaluated children and records from many countries around the world. He has an avid interest and participation in international mission projects. He enjoys gardening, photography, woodworking, stained glass, and sports both as a player and specator. |

Dr. Joyce Mauk, is Medical Director of the Child Study Center. She graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in 1982. She has served as the Director of the Behavioral Rehabiliation Service at Children's Seashore House in Philadeplphia, Pennsylvania which is a hospital serving children with develpmental disabilities and chronic illnesses. Dr. Mauk is a neuro-developmental pediatricion who has done extensive research on autism spectrum disorders, psycho-pharmacology and behavioral disorders. She is currently a member of Cook Children's Physician Network, along with many other professional and scientific societies. She and her two sons reside in Denton, Texas |
